Kids At Worship

Kids matter at Church of the Covenant.  That might sound like a cliche, but for us, it's true.  It's true because our faith in Jesus Christ tells us that to enter the Kingdom of God, we must receive it as little children - thankful and free of the cynicism that we adults are prone to have (Luke 18:16-17).  And as Presbyterians, we understand that God creates a covenant with us as Christians just as He created one with the Jewish people...a covenant that is open to our children.  We have the wonderful responsibility to educate them and train them in Christ's loving ways.  The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 11:19-21, "Teach my words to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.  Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the LORD swore to give your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth."  Our desire is that, through our ministry, our children will grow up strong in their belief in Christ Jesus.
